Minister Kamp to Speak at Wind Days 2016
The World Trade Center in Rotterdam will be the place to be on 15 and 16 June for the wind energy industry during Wind Days (Winddagen) 2016. More than 1,500 professionals will be presented with the latest developments in the field of policy making, technology and environment. This year’s theme is, Wind: Leading the Energy Transition. During the conference, results will be published on the five-year R&D program Far and Large Offshore Wind (FLOW) that investigated cost reductions for offshore wind energy. Various speakers will share their point of view on the role of wind energy in the transition to sustainable energy supply.
Minister Henk Kamp of the Ministry of Economic Affairs will speak about the future of wind energy in the Dutch supply of energy. Other contributors to the event will be CEO of RWE, Peter Terium; Van Oord CEO, Pieter van Oord; CEO of TenneT, Mel Kroon; Senior Vice President, Business Area Wind of Vattenfall, Gunnar Groebler; and Enercon CEO, Hans Dieter Kettwig.
During Wind Days 2016, more than 40 sessions will be organised covering a large variety of subjects and approximately 70 exhibitors will showcase their latest innovations. A side event to the Wind Days, the North Sea Energy Symposium Gas Meets Wind, will deal with the smart combinations of offshore gas, wind and power grids on the North Sea.
